Tips & TricksEdit

  • The machine explodes once its internal pressure reaches 1000 kPa. This can be difficult to track because pressure buildup is slow and gradual, and not linear with power input. The maximum safe operating limits are: about 1.32 MW in, less than 24 MJ/t out. Outputting 24.00 MJ/t or more will make the pressure eventually rise to 1000 kPa and destroy the compressor (along with a large section of your base). However, it is possible to run at higher power levels for short bursts, if you like to live dangerously.
  • The air compressor does not currently work like a Buildcraft engine despite looking like one. Because of this, Buildcraft machines and pipes have difficulties accepting power from it, as they expect large bursts of energy instead of a per-tick trickle. In order to properly transfer power, the air compressor must beat the minimum input threshold of the block it is attached to, such as 1 MJ/t for a pump, or 2 MJ/t for a wooden kinesis pipe. Most other Buildcraft machines require a minimum of 25 MJ/t for direct input, which will destroy the compressor. Use kinesis pipes instead, which will circumvent the input threshold for you.
